I did! I have no idea. It’s interesting to me that she’s suddenly not sure of who she is and what she wants. I never really got the sense she was that insecure. But I’m guessing that there is a purpose to this whole story arc.

I was pretty shocked when she admitted to Carter that she had entertained the idea of the two of them getting together. I mean, I get it. For the reasons she says to Jack (aka Allison in Jack’s body). I didn’t expect her to ever admit it. But I feel like that would come only with certain circumstances – if both Allison and Zane were out of the picture (i.e. presumed dead). Which is why the matrix with virtual Eureka showed Jo and Carter together. But despite their really great chemistry, those two would never work out as more than just friends because it’d upset the balance of the group dynamic (in my opinion).

I think Jo is just afraid to get hurt because she and Zane still aren’t the “mature” couple. They’ve often been quite adolescent in their reactions, but these past 2 seasons, they’ve come quite far, maturity-wise. Don’t get me wrong. I would’ve been thrilled if Jo had accepted Zane’s proposal right away, but I feel like if/when (it better be when!) Zane proposes again, you’ll know that she has no doubts. And that this relationship has finally reached a point where they are sure they belong together. Because right now, there is a lot of doubt coming from both sides, and that suggests some underlying issues that will hopefully be worked out.

I still love Zane and Jo. And I think that with Zane’s move in the right direction last week (telling Jo that she needs to stop being so wishy-washy, and that they should figure things out together), these two will finally have that adult relationship we Zane and Jo fans hope for them.
